Check it against

Scored against the strictest rule from each platform, so a pass here passes everywhere.

No account needed. Your file isn't stored: we keep what the parser read and your score for 30 days, so your result link keeps working.

Three things decide the number.

Most of it is measured on your actual file, not guessed at.

Machine readability

Can a plain parser get your text out, in the right order? We read your CV the way a conservative ATS does, then read it again properly. Whatever the plain read loses, your email, a job, a date, counts against you.

Screening fitness

Once it's parsed, can a recruiter filter on it? Contact details, dates that parse, job titles and employers, gaps, length, and how the work itself is written.

Writing

How it reads to the person who opens it. A model judges this part, under one rule: no quote from your CV, no deduction.

What most ATS checkers tell you.

And what this one checks instead.

“75% of CVs are auto-rejected by an ATS”

No ATS bulk-rejects CVs on formatting. It parses your CV into fields, and recruiters search and filter on them.

“Two-column layouts always fail”

Columns only hurt when they scramble the reading order. We check whether yours do, on your actual file.

“Every ATS gives you a score”

Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby show recruiters no candidate score at all. Parsing cleanly is what gets you found.

“The score is an AI's guess”

Most of this score is counted, not judged: we parse your CV twice and measure what the plain parse loses.

Questions, answered.

About the score, your file, and what happens to it.

Is it really free?

Yes. The score, the breakdown and the text the parser read are free, with no account. The located fixes, each problem found in your CV with what to change, come with a JobAlchemy account.

Do you keep my CV?

No. The file itself is never stored. We keep the text the parser pulled out and your result for 30 days, so your result link keeps working, and then they are deleted.

Which files can I check?

PDF or Word (.docx), up to 10 MB. A scanned PDF has no text layer, so no ATS can read it, and your score will say so.

What's a good score?

90 and above is Excellent: it parses cleanly and reads well. 75 to 89 is Strong, 60 to 74 needs work, and 40 to 59 is at risk. Below 40, a parser gets very little out of your CV.

Why is my score capped?

Some problems set a ceiling, whatever else is right. No text layer caps the score at 25, losing your email address at 55, and losing most of your roles at 50. Fix the cause and the cap lifts.

Which ATS should I pick?

If you know which system the employer uses, pick it: the score is weighted the same, but the caps and the advice follow that platform. If you don't, Any ATS applies the strictest rule from each.

Fix it once. Tailor it for every job.
